Getting There
We will be happy to coordinate your transfer from and to the Venice port where our ship will depart from and return to.
Times are estimated. Itineraries are subject to change due to wind and weather conditions and are at the discretion of the Captain.
Venice, Italy
DAY 1
Today you will have the opportunity to explore Venice! The floating city and UNESCO World Heritage Site sits on millions of wooden piles and more than 400 bridges cross 150 canals. No other city possesses such an abundance of stunningly beautiful churches, monasteries, palaces and artistic treasures. Experience the Grand Canal, the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, St Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace and Campanile. Time to wander the city will be on your own.
Please be on board and check in no later than 5pm. Directions to the dock will be provided and transportation from the airport can be arranged. You may also leave your luggage at the ship while you explore Venice.
Soon after we set sail there will be ship announcements and muster meeting. As a group we will meet for a welcome cocktail and get to know one another! Our group will be seated together all week for dinner unless you prefer to sit on your own.
Day Under Full Sails
DAY 2
Today is all about sailing and taking in the magnificent views. Enjoy breakfast at your leisure. And then get to know the Sea Cloud II. Check out the spa, and other public spaces.
At 11:00am we will meet in the Lounge for an introduction to Croatian wines followed by lunch. This afternoon you will have time to relax in a deck chair and watch the passionate crew hoisting the sails by hand. If you want to help, the Captain will put you through a few tests to make sure you are seaworthy before sending you to the riggings! We will gather for dinner and enjoy some special wines.
Vis, Croatia
DAY 3
Arrival 8:00 am
Departure 1:30 pm
Enjoy breakfast on deck as we enter into Vis’s harbor. Vis is the cradle of Croatian viticulture. Locals say the culture of cultivating vines and drinking wine in the Adriatic began in the ancient Greek colony of Issa (today’s Vis Island).
We will travel to a local winery and learn about indigenous Vis varieties: Plavac, Mali, and Vugava. And, of course, taste them! Then back to the ship for a late lunch and our departure. Enjoy your afternoon. Perhaps check into the spa services or find a cozy cabana on the deck!
At approximately 6:30pm we will gather at the bar of the Lido Deck to watch as we enter the Hvar port. The charming town of Hvar is picturesquely situated in a sheltered bay. Yachts from all over the world bob about and transform this hotspot into the "St Tropez of Croatia". Tonight, we will enjoy a 4-course dinner together on the Lido Deck. And if you are up for it, a nightcap in town!
Hvar, Croatia
DAY 4
Departure 11:00 pm
Have breakfast at your leisure and enjoy some time in Hvar on your own. Have lunch on your own there or back on board.
At 3:00pm we will meet in the center of town to walk to our chocolate and wine tasting together. We’ll explore the flavors of Mediterranean fruits and herbs through handmade chocolate paired with wines and liqueurs from Hvar's most exclusive winemakers. Then spend some additional time in the city or on the Sea Cloud II. We will meet for cocktails and dinner on the ship.
Korcula,Croatia
DAY 5
Arrival 8:00 am
Departure 7:00 pm
Enjoy breakfast as we approach the Adriatic island of Korcula. It is one of the greenest in the region. Vineyards and olive groves stretch across rolling hills. We will enjoy a guided walking tour. In one of the narrow streets you can search for the house where Marco Polo was born. Then we will visit the Cathedral of St. Mark built in the 15th century in the Gothic and Renaissance style by Italian and local artists.
Enjoy some free time shopping or head back to Sea Cloud II. If our Captain determines the conditions are right, enjoy some time on the sea platform with water equipment and boat rides. If you choose to stay in town, please be on board for a 7:00pm departure. We will enjoy wine and dinner and discuss the day!
Trogir,Croatia
DAY 6
Arrival 8:00 am
Departure 1:30 pm
When film crews search for a city location with charming alleys, a colossal fortress, and medieval charm, Trogir is often the number one choice. The Pearl of Dalmatia, as it’s known, is considered the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex in the whole of Eastern Europe.
Today we will enjoy a cooking class with a local chef preparing Dalmatian specialties. We will learn about traditional home-cooking techniques and recipes, cooking what was available that morning at the local market!
We will be back on board for a 1:30pm departure and an afternoon of leisure. The group will meet for a pre-dinner cocktail.
Sibenik, Croatia
DAY 7
Arrival 6:00 am
Departure 1:30 pm
The port of Sibenik is set in a sheltered bay on the Dalmatian coast in the estuary of the Krka, one of the most impressive waterways in Croatia. In the National Park, rushing waters cascade picturesquely. Enjoy a walking tour of the falls. Note that there will be about 2 kilometers of walking. The paths in the park are partly uneven and lead over stairs. Please wear comfortable shoes.
We recommend a late lunch on board. Be sure to return to the Sea Cloud II for our 1:30pm departure. Enjoy an afternoon under the breeze of the sales and an all-out seafood feast for dinner!
Rovinj, Croatia
DAY 8
Arrival 1:30 pm
Departure 10:00 pm
Rovinj lies on the western coast of Istria. The old town was built on a hill and was part of the Republic of Venice for over 500 years. By bus, we will travel into the hilly hinterland of Istria. And explore medieval fortified villages and many culinary delights.
We will visit brothers Tedi and Sandi Chiavalon and taste their award-winning olive oil as well as cold cuts of black pig from their own production, ham from Istria, several varieties of local cheese, including truffle cheese, and typical wines of the region. Afterwards, you will return to Rovinj for a short, guided walking tour of the town.
Tonight will be our Gala Dinner and last night on board the Sea Cloud II.
Venice, Croatia
DAY 9
Arrival 8:00 am
Disembarkation begins 9:00 am
Enjoy your last breakfast on board and say goodbye to our group!
If time allows, you can take your pick of several Venice walking tour options included in your package. Stroll through a fascinating labyrinth of narrow alleyways and romantic waterways that occasionally open up into bright squares or wide canals - on your way to a traditional mask workshop. Or discover the Dorsoduro district which is the highest land area in Venice and enchants with its shady canals, charming squares, picturesque alleyways, small craft businesses and a gondola shipyard.
Whatever your next stop is, we wish you safe travels!
